Inspired by the ancient Gaelic festival marking the beginning of the summer, the Beltane Fire Festival is a celebration where music, dance and food are ensured. This traditional celebration begins with a colourful parade, leader by the May Queen (a personification of Springtime and Summer) and the Green Man (who represents the life that grows on earth) and ends with a bonfire, representing the growing power of the sun through to midsummer.
